Oh Dear!

Well, I haven't written in my blog in a few days as you can see. No special reason, mainly because I haven't had time. Friday I went to school and had a great day. Each child in those two class rooms has a place in my heart. Oh...I could talk about them for hours.

There is this one kindergartner and he was in the first and second grade class for the week. Every Friday is Chapel and the whole school goes into the church auditorium. Well, I was just about to take my pew with a few of the students. The first and second grade teacher was taking the second pew with the rest of the kids. All of a sudden the little boy grabbed my arm and said he wanted me to sit with him!Aww isn't that the cutest thing you have ever heard of?!?!

On the subject of school, I decided I am going to blog about something that had happened to me a few Friday's ago. This happened while I took a quick restroom break before I headed down to the cafeteria for lunch.

I am a quiet person by nature. I can get to talking when I start to get to know you, but your first impression of me would probably be "She is either shy or a snob." lol... I have gotten both but I am not a snob. I am just shy! I am in one of the stalls getting ready to exit when the door would not open. "Oh dear!" I tried it again. Nothing. The third time I was starting to panic. There was no way I was going to draw attention to myself and cry for help. I was going to get out...but how, was beyond me!

When I decided that the door really wasn't going to open I weighed my options. I could stand there all day until somebody realized I was gone. I could pray until my head started to ache that God would give me a miracle and open the door. Or I could crawl under. Now you have to remember this is an elementary bathroom, the stall doors almost hit the ground. I was thinking the only thing that could be more embarrassing then this is if I got stuck!

After a few more silent seconds I decided crawling under or jumping over would be the only solution and there was no way in my life I would have even dreamed about jumping over. So I got on my hands and knees and crawled under the stall and prayed that no one would witness it. Thankfully nobody did.

I found out later that it happens often and you have to lift the door to lock and unlock it.
That was some useful knowledge. lol...

I hope all the mother's have a great mother's day today. I am going to head down to the kitchen to have dinner with my mom and my family.

Oh, that story about the restroom stall is so funny! I've never had the privilege of getting locked in a stall before! :-)
I can be pretty shy, too, but once I get to know someone a bit, I don't really have a hard time talking.
