Fourth of July!!

“One, two three!” I whisper in his ear. He laughs at my antics as I pull the swing back to my chest. “Are you ready?” I say louder to get another chuckle out of him and then I let the swing go. His little legs start pumping hard as he goes soaring through the sky. “Patrick, you are going so high!” I say as I give him another push.

I can’t see his face but I know he is smiling proud for swinging so well. It’s such a small thing bringing my nephew to the park. But, on this day I just want to praise God that I have that opportunity.

In another land so far away I easily forget that there are men and women fighting for that day I had with him. I can’t imagine how many soldiers wish they can spend a day with one of their family members.

This is my Fourth of July post. I thought it would be appropriate to say lets not forget in the mist of the fireworks and parades to pray for the soldiers who can’t celebrate here.

Cute pic. And you are very right. We should be thinking about our soldiers more than the pretty fireworks and hot-dogs. HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY TO ALL OUR BRAVE SOLDIERS!!!

Amen!! I appreciate what you said about praying for those soldiers that couldn't be here to celebrate. I have a brother in law in Iraq that wasn't able to be home with his wife and daughter to celebrate. Thank you for encouraging others to pray for those who are serving abroad.
