Sisters-Baking-Sweet Tea

Today, my family went on a picnic on this warm September Saturday. We packed our family picnic basket put the juice boxes in our cooler. Ran a quick stop to our local deli where I picked up a sub for me and Carole (Hey you can take the girls out of the city but you can't take the city out of the girls.)
We drove to our favorite picnic stop the same stop Carole and Mark got engaged we stepped out of the car grabbed all of our things including Jeremy's wagon and walk down to the Falls. It was one of the saddest things I have seen in a long time the beautiful lush color green on the trees were grey the nicely cut grass was covered in mud and dust there was a certain must feeling through out the ear as our flip flops sank in the mud and you heard a few "eww's" from the two girls tromping beside their family. Mark worked hard keeping the wagon moving in a steady pace as the rest of followed him to a lonely picnic table.

Irene did quite the damage to many people and too many places. Our shopping malls are closed and fenced. We saw army trucks galore at our local grocery mart we were thinking they were on their way to helping some people to our sister state.

So, in all of this Carole and I decided not to take what we have for granted and went to her home and baked some pies for our church dinner tomorrow.

So I made a raspberry pie. How do you like it? Doesn't it look yummy??

The pie looks beautiful and it sounds like you all had a ball together even if you did have to walk in the mud in flip-flops!! :)
