Beautiful.

Beautiful.

Thats the only word I can use to explain my summer.
I didn't travel. I didn't create my own business or finally finish the novel I started when I was sixteen. But, I spent countless hours with Jeremy. I talked to my mom while Jeremy played in the sand box as we both sunk our toes in the cool sand.

I didn't read all the books on my book shelf or bake a million cookies. Instead, I read a couple of good books. Spent some time with my Mimi, enjoyed plenty of nights watching movies with Carole.

My summer was not grand. It was not incredible but it was unforgettable.

This Tuesday my summer will come to a close. Today was our teachers meeting. I couldn't believe we were having the meeting already.

Tuesday, will bring new subjects, new books, and new students. My classrooms are ready, I only have a few little things left and my year will be ready to begin!

It's going to be a fun year though. I am very excited to start.

What have you been doing this summer?

Are you getting ready for school?

Shall we play pretend?

If I close my eyes real tight I can almost see us. Two little girls without a care in the world.

We would play "house" almost everyday. One day I was a Pastor's wife with seven kids and

Carole was a police officers wife with one kid. Another day we were both on the mission field with our husbands and children, another day I still had a bunch kids but my husband recently died and Carole lived in a mansion with her rich husband and one kid.

When we got bored of house we would move onto Barbies. We had a big doll house and we would sit at the doll house for hours playing Barbies. At one point we decided to make our barbies a sitcom we had theme song for them and everything.

I will never, ever forget one Christmas, Carole and I opened up Mary Kate and Ashley dolls. Yes, they were big in our lives at the time. After we smothered our parents with hugs we ran upstairs and played with them in our doll house for hours. Aaron was pretty distressed because it was Christmas morning and we needed to be down stairs in the living room. :)

Last night, I was up at the school and Carole and I were putting up a bulletin board. She asked me what is with the cow border? I said "The title is We Have a Moovelous school!" She looked at me with a smirk and was just about to say something when I gave her a look. "I mean that is pretty incredible creative of you!" Both of us lost it we started giggling like we were five and seven again. Of course we just about looked five in seven both with our flip flops laying on the ground standing on small chairs and of course me with my pig tails.:)

I just love my sister.

These days are pretty sentimental.

My life long twin who happens to be two and half years younger than me is getting married.

Some days I don't even believe it.

Aren't we still on our twin beds pretending they were islands in Asia? Or traveling Southern Gospel tour buses?

How can we be old enough to be married? I shake my head as I think about shower plans, or when Carole talks about her dress...

We are not pretending anymore this is the real deal.

Next August I am going to be watching my best friend walk down the isle. I am going to be the proudest maid of honor.
I love you my Carole!

A Gift...

What a gift the Lord gave us a year ago today...

Sleep deprived, high on caffeine, anxious with nerves I waited for him to come...

Watching the clock, updating my blog, facebook, email, text messages, praying oh so praying waiting, watching...

Looking at my mom's tired face and then it was time.

After nine months of preparing, praying, talking about, waiting, it was time.

The time to meet my brother...

I will never forget the moment he came into the world, this miracle, this surprise, this gift from God. I will never forget how I felt as I looked at my parents faces the love they shared for this new son made my heart squeeze with love for my precious parents.

Tears fell down my cheek as my Mimi put her arm around my back. My mom was okay, my baby brother was okay and the Lord had His mighty hands around our family.

Who would of thought at age 22 I would be standing in the hospital room next to my sister Carole holding our phones taking pictures of our new baby brother. Counting to three so we both could send text messages at the same time to all our friends and family.

Now, a whole year later our Jeremy is one.

One years old.

He's taking eight steps at a time.

He loves to talk.

He claps and waves.
He LOVES Barney.

He is pretty partial to Southern Gospel music! ;)

He loves fish (Real fish and crackers)

He loves his family and we love him.

I can't tell you how much I love this boy. He is my joy. I love his little kisses, his hugs, his laughter, his love.
I never thought three years ago when I started this blog that I would be announcing that Jeremy was coming.
Or to be sitting at hospital giving you play by play of what was going on.
Or a year later announcing this baby boy just turned one.
The Lord knows just what we need.

He knew we needed our Jeremy.

I will be posting pictures of Jeremy's birthday we had for him yesterday soon.
Until then....

Ocean Fun!

Slipping off my flip flops, as my hair flew in the wind I looked at the water and I sighed. What wonder, what beauty, what amazing creativity that our mighty God has. To form all of this with His mighty hand.

...And then me and Jeremy discovered the Ocean.
My heart was pounding as I heard the giggles fill my ears. The Lord has given us the most sweetest gift. And we have had him for almost a year. I love each new little discovery of his. How his eyes round like saucers as his toes touch the salty waves as he holds onto me and smiles.

We had such fun last night. My whole family went to the Ocean and we had a blast enjoying making memories that will last a lifetime.

A Very Happy Birthday...

to me...:DWow, I can not believe a whole year has past already! It feels like it was just yesterday I was writing on here saying I hoped my little brother would come early on my birthday. He came two weeks after my birthday but it was still the greatest birthday gift ever.

This morning when I stumbled down the stairs I was greeted by my birthday gift. Jeremy gave me the biggest smile and wrapped his chubby arms around my neck.

Of course, a minute later I stumbled back up the stairs to sleep another hour to then be woken up by my mom with an omlette and two English muffins smothered with orange marmalade. Breakfast in bed. How can a start of birthday be better than that? Of course when I came down stairs we needed a birthday picture of me and Jeremy which is the picture above.

As I started to write this post just randomly another birthday came to mind.

It was a Sunday morning my eighth birthday. I have always LOVED my birthday. My mom had put two tiny packages on my bed next to my pillow. I tossed my tangle locks over my shoulder and opened up the gifts to my utter surprise there sat two pairs of earrings.
I jumped up and ran to my mom she met me at my bedroom door. "Ginger, I am okay but I need to go to the hospital. "(I can't remember why she had to go...) I was utterly crushed until she said the next sentence. "So Mr.H (Friends of the family) will bring you,Carole and Aaron to church and then he will bring you back to their house."
My Sunday morning went well my Sunday school class sang me "Happy Birthday" and then it was on to the H's house. But first we needed to stop at the store. Carole and our friend Mackenzie bounced around the store in such high giddy spirits that only a birthday can do to you. Aaron walked side by side with Mr.H while Mrs.H laughed at the crazy little girls in front of her.
We entered their house after the grocery store where Carole, Mackenzie and I ran into her bedroom and started playing with barbies. With my new Barbie furniture.
We had a special lunch, and then a cake (The surprise grocery trip was to get me a cake. I had no clue!) I then got to open some gifts.
It's funny the little things I remember.
But that birthday always makes me smile. Because that family didn't know the 3 us were coming over on my birthday the day before it was all last minute that morning. But they weren't going to have an eight year old girl being sad on her birthday.
That made my day extra special!
More details on my 23rd birthday coming soon.
