A Funeral, kids and thrift stores

Hello to all the bloggers!!
I have so much to write about! School went great this week. I love helping out there. The kids are so much fun and so sweet. The next day I had nursery at a funeral. A pastor died and the funeral was on Saturday so me, my mom and sister took care of thirteen kids along with another helper! Yeah...that was fun! Actually it really was. But it went on for about four hours so the kids were getting pretty restless by the time the parents came.

Yesterday we were heading home from church and we stopped at this thrift store. I always opt to stay in the car and read. So, I am reading this novel when my mom comes out and tells me Carole (my sister) wants me to go in there. She found something she knew I would love. I go in there and she has the cutest tier skirt and all the tags were still on it!! It was six dollars (original price forty four dollars.)So I was happy with Carole's find and it went right into the washing machine when we got home. Carole says to me "Will you go in there more often, now?" I said "No. You can just find stuff for me!"

Okay, I need to get going!

What shall I write?

Sometimes I can't decide what to write in my "blog" which ends up with me not writing anything for days. So, I decided I would just write a whole blog about absolutely nothing. So here I go....

1. Why is Elmo red?

2. Why do people have to wear shoes? (Not that I disagree I love shoes!!)

3. Why would some one say "much obliged" and not "Thank you"?

4. How come someone walked on the moon but not the sun? lol....I am not stupid, I know that answer!

5. Why do people act like little things are the end of the world?

Are you getting bored yet?? Okay good I'll go on....lol...

6. Why are "Twinkies" called "Twinkies?

7. Why do people eat cream filled gook in the first place?

8. How in the world can people like yard work?

9. Can someone be as much as a pain as Nellie Olsen from Little House and the Prairie?

Are you falling asleep yet? Okay I will stop. Maybe I will actually have something worth writing in my next blog.

And yes there is a such thing as a stupid question...I just named nine! lol...

I want to adopt!

Have you ever sat on the couch watching TV and one of those commercials come on that ask you
to pay a certain amount of money a month to sponsor a child. I see those commercials and I think of all those children who have no family who need a "Mommy and Daddy".I want to take one of those babies home.

I was watching this program that featured a family who adopted two children that had no feet or arms. The babies were adorable. I know it would not be all fun but I think the baby would find it's way into my heart and I would just deal with all the unpleasant stuff that comes my way.

Of course adopting is a far away dream for me right now. I'm not even married yet. I wonder though maybe one of these days if I will be traveling to different countries helping others adopt little ones. Oh how I would love that!

Alright, I am going to sign off for now!

Tackle Football (Don't try this at home)

Wow, first things first. Last week I was complaining about all the snow on the ground. This week it's beautiful! I have been enjoying high temperature's in the seventies and eighties. How wonderful! I love wearing my summer clothing and flip flops!

The last couple of days I have been doing something I normally never would do lol...I have been playing Tackle Football. (Ouch!) Okay, so I am not the most athletic girl around. But my younger brother (Who is taller than I am) asked me if I could be on my sister's team because she was not enough of a "Challenge" for him. I'm not sure what he thought I could do but after the fiftieth
time he explained how the game was played. I sort of got the hang of it to my brothers dismay.

At one point my sister gave me the ball and my brother knocked me on the ground. When he did that my sneaker whacked him in the stomach! Oops! Then he said to me "Ginger the object of the game is for me not to get the ball from your team member. When I go after her you go after me,knock me to the ground, push me,do anything so I won't get the ball." Apparently he didn't like me flapping my arms and saying "No, no get away!" lol....Hey, I didn't say I was Tom Brady!

So, I took his advice when they said "GO!" He was just about to get the ball when I kicked him to the ground. My sister got a touch down while my brother hoped around the grass saying... "I didn't say kick Ginger!" Kick" was not in my speech!" Once again "Oops!"

Surprisingly they want to play again today. So, I guess they haven't got their fill of falling on the ground getting grass stains and cuts and for my poor brother getting sneaker prints on his stomach. Have I already said "Oops!"

When you get a craving for tackle football take my advice.
1. Wear a helmet
2. Wear knee and elbow pads
3. Just forget the football and go inside and watch a nice movie!

Enjoy the wonderful weather!

Thumper,laptops and boredom

I was awakened by a lamp that was on my nightstand when I went to sleep but was suspiciously on my head when I woke up! Thumper, my cat is the sweetest thing but he is every bit a kitten in so many ways! It never fails. Every morning he wakes me up by sticking his two back legs in my eyes while he sticks his whole head in the blinds to look out the window. I like the outdoors as much as the next guy but something about waking up at an ungodly hour to look at the sunset is just hogwash! lol...I agree with a Christian comedian that once said. "If God wanted me to see the sunrise he would have put it in the middle of the day!" Back to the lamp. For some odd reason Thumper wanted the nightstand to himself so he knocked the lamp over on me and my Cd's on the ground. Yeah, I woke up real happy!

Next on my agenda, laptops...lol...how I want a laptop! If I don't write in this blog everyday it's because I have to share this computer and I might not have a chance. Although if I had a laptop it would be my very own and I wouldn't have to share!LOL...of course I would still share. Why am I rambling about a laptop 'cause Thumper woke me up at an un godly hour remember? I didn't get my full nine hours of sleep! I am slap happy or bored. Either one would fit fine.

Okay that's enough...I need to sign off...If you have a laptop enjoy it while you cuddle with your cat.

In a blink of an eye

I am sure everyone by now has heard about the tragic events at Virginia Tech. It's so sad to imagine all those families suffering for the evil deeds of two men. I wonder how many of those students knew the Lord when their life ended yesterday.

We never know when our life will end. We could die coming home from work in a car wreck or just being at the wrong place at the wrong time like the people who died yesterday. Can you imagine they just thought they were going to yet another day in college. Working their way towards graduation and then starting a new life with a college education.

But those students will never be able to walk down that isle with their cap on their head and tassel in their face. Never will be able to see the glimmering pride in their parents eyes. Never be able to marry their boyfriend or girlfriend. Or never even be able to meet someone that special. That girl who dreamed of having children one day and had a journal full of names that she one day hoped to choose from to name her child will never have that chance. That boy who dreamt about playing for the NFL will never have that opportunity.

All these dreams are now only dreams. They will never be able to be a reality because two angry men crushed them and killed the dreamers.

I wonder this though, these innocent people who were caught in the line of fire when they gasped their last breath did they know for sure where they were going? Did they asked Jesus into their heart at one point during their life? Were they ready to see Him in eternity? I sure hope so. You see, like we see from yesterday's episode you never know when your last day on this earth will be. If you have never trusted in Jesus Christ to be your Lord and personal Savior don't wait another day do it now.

You may ask why? I am a good person. Being good is not enough you need Jesus to come live in your heart and become your Lord. We are all sinners and without Jesus we are headed to the pits of Hell. You may say I will wait until I get older until I retire until...until when? Do you think those people those thirty something people had a chance in those frighting last moments of their life to surrender to the Almighty God I hope so, but I doubt it strongly.

Jesus is waiting. Surrender to Him now.Ask Jesus to come into your life and to forgive you from your sins. It doesn't have to be fancy or long. Just mean it and believe it in your heart that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and three days later he arose from the grave. And one day and I believe soon he's coming again.

Life is too short, trust in God!

Snowing in April?

Wow, you should see my yard. It's covered with snow! I thought it was supposed to be April showers (as in rain not snow!) It looks like a blanket of cotton out there. I am wondering when I will be able to put my winter coat away for the spring, maybe around July.

I remember when I was a little girl I would lay out in the snow and make snow angels while I watched the sky. I was always so captivated at God's handy work no matter what the day is like snow, rain, sun or wind the sky always looks inviting. I would wave at the planes convinced that my great aunt who always travels was on board. I guess I hadn't learned the concept yet that no one could see me from that high up in the air.

Well, I guess I will end for now. Keep warm!

I have a blog!

Hi to my fellow bloggers,
So, I am starting my own blog this will be neat. I enjoy writing and talking when I warm up and get to know someone so this will be cool. I work at a Christian school for the time being and in the process of starting my own daycare. I am sure I will have great stories to share for being around children there is never a dull moment.

I am also a dedicated Southern Gospel Music fan so I am sure you will see in the future many subjects and comments refering to my passion. MUSIC!

So, I hope you will stop by and enjoy "In the life of Miss P"
